Located southeast of the Sun Valley Resort and Dollar Mountain, the owners of the Resort began developing the 4000 acre Elkhorn area and Golf Course in 1972. It now consists of 13 single family subdivisions and 24 condominium associations. Owners are drawn to the area for the all day sun and access to two amenity areas including 2 pools, tennis courts, pickleball courts and a golf clubhouse. The Elkhorn golf course is owned by the Sun Valley Resort and open to the public. Elkhorn is also known for its open space with 1800 acres of open land and several hiking trails throughout. The Blaine County bike path runs throughout the area connecting to the Resort and downtown Ketchum.
